Что взбесило? Всё начинается с избитых клише. Главный герой Джек Тейт — суперагент, который всегда на шаг впереди врагов. Он умён, силён и всегда готов к действию. Но разве не все герои шпионских романов такие? Где новизна, где изюминка?
Сюжет? Стандартный набор: заговор, предательство, погони, перестрелки. Всё это мы уже видели. И не раз. Автор пытается добавить остроты, но получается как-то поверхностно.
А как же авторский стиль? Он есть, но он не запоминается. Нет той изюминки, которая бы сделала его уникальным.
Но есть и то, что зацепило. Это деталь, которая кажется незначительной, но на самом деле важна. В одном из эпизодов герой использует необычный способ шифрования. Это добавляет интриги и заставляет задуматься о том, как много мы не знаем о работе спецслужб.
Однако, несмотря на эту деталь, книга не оставляет после себя глубокого следа. Она как одноразовая закуска — быстро съедаемая, но не оставляющая послевкусия.
И всё же, есть ли в ней что-то стоящее? Да, есть. Это возможность окунуться в мир шпионов и приключений. Но не стоит ждать от неё слишком многого.
«A Jack Tate SAS Thriller» — это книга, которая не разочарует поклонников жанра, но и не предложит им ничего нового. Она как старая знакомая, которая всегда рада встрече, но уже не способна удивить.
