This book was a real page-turner for me. I loved the intricate plot and the way the characters' lives intertwined. The writing style is captivating, and the historical context adds depth to the story. However, I felt that some parts dragged on a bit too long, which made it a bit hard to stay fully engaged at times.

I was a bit torn about this book. On the one hand, the themes of love, betrayal, and social expectations are really interesting and relevant. But on the other hand, the pacing felt off to me, and some of the characters were a bit one-dimensional. It's not a bad book by any means, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
