This book was a real eye-opener for me. I was fascinated by the main character's ambition and determination, but at the same time, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about his morally ambiguous actions. The way he manipulated people and situations to get what he wanted was both impressive and disturbing. I also appreciated the historical context and the detailed descriptions of the financial world in the late 19th century.

I found the book a bit slow at times, but it definitely has its moments. The main character, Frank Cowperwood, is a complex and interesting figure, but I sometimes struggled to understand his motivations. The writing style is dense and detailed, which can be a bit overwhelming at times. However, I did appreciate the insight into the world of finance and the historical context. Overall, it's a solid read, but not my favorite.
