Edward Bulwer-Lytton (1803 - 1873) was an English novelist, poet, playwright and politician, A lot of his works contributed to the early growth of the science fiction genre. "Kenelm Chillingly" is one of Bulwer's most popular novels of English life. Kenelm is the long-desired heir of an old family, who leaves home in search of adventures as an unknown pedestrian with a few pounds in his pocket, but he does not expect, that adventures will change him cardinally.

This book was a real surprise for me. I didn't expect such an interesting story about the adventures and opinions of Kenelm Chillingly. The author did a great job describing the characters and their relationships. However, the plot is quite slow at times, and some parts felt a bit затянуто. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to those who like classic literature.

I'm not sure what to think about this book. On the one hand, the story is quite interesting and the characters are well-developed. On the other hand, the writing style is a bit old-fashioned and difficult to follow at times. I also found some of the opinions expressed by the main character a bit outdated and not relatable. Overall, it's an okay book, but I wouldn't rush to read it again.
